Jasleen and her beau, Hartaj always wanted to get married in an intimate setting in an outdoor location, and their gorgeous wedding was straight out of their dream vision. “Both my husband and I have always wished for an outdoor intimate wedding and we were so glad that it was just that. An ethereal setting amidst the foothills in a very scenic backdrop,” says Jasleen.
The couple met each other in 2019 through their parents and clicked immediately. Their chemistry was instant, and so was the affection. “We both live in Canada. After a few months of getting to know each other, we decided to get married. The engagement was supposed to happen in May 2020, but Coronavirus hit soon after,” shares Jasleen. But as things got better, and they both felt it was safe to conduct a ceremony, the due revelries happened. “We flew down from Canada to get married and rest is history.”
And if you’re thinking about how the bride and groom planned their nuptials if they weren’t in India, it all happened online. “I was in Canada, which has been under on-and-off lockdown for a while now. Mostly everything was shut due to Covid-19. So, I turned to Pinterest and Instagram to search for my inspiration and ideas and pick my vendors,” says Jasleen.
After enough research, and narrowing down her options, Jasleen decided to visit the stores, with an open mind though. “I think it’s very important that you have an open outlook. Because what you see online might not even be in the store or not look good on you. For me, it may sound cliche, but as soon as I put on my wedding outfit, I knew it was the one. And surprisingly, it was the first outfit I tried. I guess I just got lucky,” shares Mrs.Powar.
Engagement:
The first event on the couple’s 4-day long wedding celebration was an engagement party. With a pristine setup of striking lighting and floral arrangements, the couple had a traditional Roka ceremony followed by a dance party. Jasleen chose a mirror-work yellow lehenga for the event, by the man who revolutionized the handloom, Abhinav Mishra. She teamed her look with wavy, smooth tresses and dewy makeup.
Mehendi:
After a cozy engagement night, the couple had a mehendi and bangle ceremony planned. For mehendi, Jasleen picked an effortless sharara suit in a purple hue and bedecked with intricate golden handwork. And for her bangle ceremony, she slipped into a simple vibrant orange suit set and let her face breathe with a no-makeup look.
Sangeet:
Following the customary wedding schedule, Jasleen and Hartaj had a sangeet night planned right after their mehendi. While Jasleen was, as usual, the star of the event, clad in a custom-made golden bridal attire, we’re also swooning over the details of her wedding decor. The aesthetic blend of white and golden with a touch of red with statement elements like flamingos lend such a luxurious feel to the exuberant Sangeet night. Scroll down to see the pictures.
Wedding:
Jasleen and Hartaj’s Anand Karaj was an affair to remember. “Our Anand Karaj took place at a private farm with 200 close friends and family, followed by an elaborate lunch. We kept the decor pastel-themed to complement the lush green background. For us, the decor was a huge part to set the mood of the special day, so we made sure decor for each event was different and unique from one another,” says Jasleen. For the winsome day wedding, Jasleen picked a blush pink lehenga ensemble by Rimple & Harpreet with a slight hint of glimmer. Hartaj, on the other hand, wore an ivory sherwani with pink safa and stole to complement his bride nicely. Ahead, you can find some splendid snapshots of their big day.
As her big day came to an end, Jasleen was all praises for all her vendors and how they made their wedding a seamless one. “I am so glad I chose the vendors I did. I certainly wouldn’t have it any other way. All of them, from decorator to photographer, made my ride a stress-free one. I’d totally recommend each one of them,” shares Powar as she ends the conversation with us.
And as a piece of advice for brides-to-be,” enjoy the ride of your wedding day, and all the functions held. Take it as it comes, because it’s soon going to fly away, so enjoy every moment,” says Jasleen.
