Every year married women deck up in their personal best and deck up in solah shringar to celebrate Karvachauth. The festival is celebrated by Hindu women where they pray and fast all day for the well-being and long life of their husbands. Unmarried women also observe fast so God blesses them with a good partner and home. The celebration is observed by people from all walks of life, including the Bollywood fraternity. This year the popular KC festivities at Sunita Kapoor’s home garnered attention, but media and the netizens were keenly waiting for the pictures of newly-weds Parineeti Chopra-Raghav Chaddha and Siddharth Malhotra-Kiara Advani who observed their first Karvachauth this year. Scroll ahead to get a peek at the KC 2023 celebrations.
#1 Shilpa Shetty
Shilpa Shetty’s Karvachauth looks are always a treat to the eyes. She never fails to mesmerize in a classic red saree – though this time she opted for a half-half pink and red saree. Styling the look with a kundan choker set, red bindi, and bangles, she looked stunning as she joined Sunita Kapoor’s KC celebrations.
#2 Katrina Kaif
Kaif celebrated her second Karvachauth this year, and she stuck to the basics for the occasion. A sheer Sabyasachi saree with a heavy blouse embroidered with zardozi, sequins, and aari-tari work. She kept styling simple with a pair of kundan bangles, mangalsutra, and her sapphire engagement ring – one of the most talked-about engagement rings of Bollywood actresses. Both Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif opted for a low-key affair in their sea-facing home alongside the former’s parents.
#3 Sonam Kapoor
“I’ll take any chance to celebrate love, faith, togetherness, and dress up,“ writes Sonam Kapoor as she shares the ethereal pictures from her KC 2023 celebration. She arrived at her mother’s home to join Shilpa Shetty, Rani Mukherjee, Bhavana Panday, Maheep Kapoor, and others at the annual festivities. She wore an ivory silk saree from Gurugram-based designer Anavila and paired it with dainty maangtikka, sleek hair, and a rosy makeup look for a striking Indian look.
#4 Parineeti Chopra
All eyes were on Parineeti Chopra’s Instagram as fans were waiting for her to post her Karvachauth look. The wait ended late in the evening when she and her husband Raghav Chaddha posted a collaborative Instagram post with their happy Karvachauth pictures. The newlywed can be seen wearing a red Patiala suit set in heavy embroidery. To elevate the attire, she opted for dangler earrings, jooti, and a red bindi. Earlier in the day, she also shared a glimpse of her figure mehndi design with the caption “waiting” alongside the emoji of the moon.
#5 Natasha Dalal
Natasha Dalal and Varun Dhawan celebrated their second Karvachauth this year. Dalal, who also runs her eponymous label in Mumbai, wore a printed lehenga for the occasion alongside a jacket to keep her look a mix of traditional and contemporary. Natasha stayed away from the media light, so Varun shared the lovey-dovey pictures of the couple on social media.
#6 Athiya Shetty
Athiya Shetty also celebrated her first Karvachauth this year alongside cricketer KL Rahul, who has been playing with Team India lately in the Cricket World Cup. Though she didn’t post any pictures with the cricketer or the rituals as such, she uploaded her solo portraits on Instagram as part of her paid promotions. For the occasion, the actress wore a satin silk saree with a deep-neck embroidered blouse. Beauty-wise, she kept things dewy with a gradient eye makeup and nude lipstick.
#7 Kiara Advani
Kiara Advani and Siddharth Malhotra jetted off to New Delhi for their KC celebrations. The couple took a morning flight just a day before KC to enjoy the festivities at the latter’s home in Delhi. For the occasion, the couple coordinated in red attire with Advani wearing a suit with a designer work and her beau seen in a Kurta. They shared a picture from one of the rituals of the festival which involves seeing the husband through the sieve.
