After a string of 2019 celebrity weddings, we didn’t think 2020 would be able to match the glam of previous year. But Rana Daggubati and Miheeka’s celebrity wedding had us swooning over it in no time. The two got engaged earlier this year and had a small home ceremony just after the lockdown was lifted. Owing to government restrictions, we figured they would be postponing their wedding. To our and everyone else’s surprise, they had a beautiful intimate wedding that’s just a perfect inspiration for brides getting married during Covid-19.
How did Rana and Miheeka meet?
The couple started making headlines in May when Rana Daggubati posted a picture of himself with Miheeka captioned ‘She said Yes’. Many of us didn’t even know they were dating. And they actually weren’t together for a long time before getting engaged. Miheeka is a classmate of Rana’s cousin and they have a common group of friends, plus she lives right next to him in Jubilee Hills. They have met a few times before but the romance didn’t flourish until recently. Since they had so many people in common, their bond was strong from the start.
Like Miheeka is the niece of producer Tolu Bajaj, who knows the Daggubati family from a long time. That’s just one of the many ways they were connected through friends and family.
Rana dropped his intent of getting married over the phone, they met in person after that and sealed the deal. It all happened so quickly that his mom teases them saying it all transpired in three days with just a bunch of conversations. Talking about his lady love and their romance Rana shared, “I like the way she smiles, speaks and everything that fits with me perfectly. You meet the right person, good things happen and you go with the flow.”
Engagement Pictures:
The couple’s engagement ceremony was held at Ramanaidu’s studio in Hyderabad. It wasn’t an official roka function but just a formal get-together of two families to finalise the engagement and wedding. Miheeka was glowing in a Jayanti Reddy Kanchipuram saree in shades of pink, peach, and yellow. She kept her makeup & hair simple and just wore a statement necklace as her jewellery. Rana looked handsome as always in a white dhoti-kurta set.
Pre Wedding Function:
Just before wedding revelries, the couple had an intimate pre-wedding function. Miheeka wore a unique combination of pista green and peach for the function. She also had a designer mask made for the outfit and we have to say that’s an important accessory for any bride getting married right now. Take a look:
Haldi:
The couple’s entire wedding took place at Ramanaidu studios in Hyderabad. Bride wore a beautiful yellow lehenga for the ceremony and the best part of her look was the seashell mathapatti – something that we’ve never seen on a bride before. The decor was a mellow mix of yellow & green. The pictures are quite impressive.
Mehendi:
The mehendi pictures are a visual treat. Clad in a raspberry pink anarkali with a dori back, the bride looked splendid at her mehendi ceremony. Her statement pearl maang tikka is another fab aspect of the ensemble. Brides-to-be, take cues from Miheeka’s captivating mehndi look for your intimate ceremony.
Wedding:
Miheeka was dripping with royalty at her wedding. Her white & red lehenga was made by ace designer Anamika Khanna, who revealed that it took about 10,000 hours to bring it to reality. And we can see all the hard work put in. Apart from the breathtaking couture, the bride also wore statement jewellery pieces that exude elegance in every which way.
As for Rana, he made one of the most dapper grooms EVER. Dressed in his favorite ivory shade (we just think it’s his favorite because he donned it in all his functions 😅), he gave us some major groom goals. So in awe of the couple.
