Every few weeks, we come across a bride who goes viral on social media. All wedding pages want to feature her and the audience can’t get enough of her. Aishwarya is one such bride. Her bridal pictures and adorable little family won over everyone’s hearts in no time.
Often when a bride goes viral, it’s something like her high-end lehenga, unique bridal portraits or an edgy, fun aspect that draws people to her images. But in Aishwarya’s case, it was actually her unconventional yet relatable love story which soared her popularity.
Fairytales do exist and so does the idea of Prince Charming and Mr.Right! But it’s’ not necessary we find it the first time around. In Aishwarya’s case, she found her true love and happy ending in her second marriage. And so did her husband, Rishi.
“Yes, it’s a love marriage and we are both divorcees with kids,” says Aishwarya. Being a part of a society where divorce is still viewed as a taboo, life certainly added an unfair edge to both of their lives. “It took a lot of courage to go for a divorce, especially when you have kids. But we’ve gotta fight for our happiness. The society is filled with people who judge us and try to demotivate us no matter what we do. However, nothing should stop us from creating our own beautiful lives. And of course, when love is involved everything falls into place. Nothing is impossible.”
Rishi and Aishwarya have known each other for a few years and always connected, which now makes sense why. “There is always a reason why people come in your life and God always has his own better plans,” says Aishwarya.
“After fighting all the odds we decided to have an intimate wedding during lockdown. A micro-wedding is what we’ve wanted, so the lockdown measures didn’t bother us as much. It was more like a blessing in disguise,” says Aishwarya of her big day planning. “We absolutely enjoyed every bit of our wedding with our close family members. We had only 35-40 guests, with all the safety measures in place.”
Aishwarya is not from Delhi, so given the situation, it was difficult for her to manage the wedding planning. Although her spouse Rishi took care of everything. “He managed it all so beautifully with a lot of surprises and the arrangements couldn’t have been better,” gushed Aishwarya of her Mr.Right! “I only had to manage my shopping and everything online but thanks to my friends in Gurugram, one is a jewellery designer and other is a dress designer, Sahiba from Voiix. She designed my lehenga and it turned out to be exactly like I wanted. We only had a day for alterations and it all went really well,” she further adds.
“We came to Gurugram just 2 days prior to the wedding and stayed at Leela Ambience Gurugram, which was also the venue for our mehendi and sangeet.”
Words of Wisdom from our stunner bride:
“People tend to lose their confidence when they go through a divorce. But trust me, where there is a will, there is a way! If you want a happy life, you have to get up and fight your own battle. It takes a lot of courage, but eventually it’s all worth a struggle. And nothing worth comes easy.” ~ Aishwarya Gunani.
