This Bride Wore Saree For Not 1,2.. But 4 Of Her Wedding Functions & Looked Gorgeous In All Of Them!

Saree is one of the most beautiful attire in the Indian subcontinent. Its grace and charm remain unequaled to this day. We can safely put the appeal of saree on one side and all the other Indian outfits like lehengas & suits on the other – and we are still not exaggerating the allure this 6 yards of sheer elegance holds. Moreover, sarees also have a lot of traditional values in many cultures. In South Indian weddings, brides are seen wearing a gorgeous piece of silk saree on their big day! And we can’t say we don’t always end up staring at how beautiful they look.

However, in North India, the culture of wearing a saree at weddings isn’t that popular. Wedding guests do clad themselves in stunning sarees but the bride is often seen in lehengas or other traditional wear. Well, yes, all of this changed after Anushka’s iconic Benarasi saree reception look! And then Deepika followed the suit soon after.

And since then we have spotted brides wearing splendid sarees on their wedding reception. And sometimes on the pre-wedding shoot as well. But that’s all!

Hold On! This perception is about to get completely changed. Recently, we came across a bride who wore saree for ‘4’ of her wedding functions. That’s right. Not 1,2… but 4 – pre-wedding, mehendi, wedding day & reception. We guess that’s what happens when you are ‘sareepreneur’.

Tanya Singh, CEO & Founder of online retail business, Desidhaga, got married to her boyfriend in a surreal, intimate ceremony at The Taj Ganges, Varanasi. And she was a literal saree queen at her wedding. All her sarees were from her own brand Desidhaga, which she has nurtured and built over the years. What a great way to establish that you really firmly believe in what you are pursuing.

Pre-Wedding:

For her pre-wedding, Tanya wore a beige golden saree from her collection along with a cold shoulder zero neck blouse. Their pre-wedding location was set against the majestic Varanasi Chetsingh Ghat.

Mehendi:

Starting off her 3-day wedding extravaganza, Tanya wore a red-green handwoven georgette banarasi saree with an off-shoulder blouse. She paired it with a kundan choker and a chandbali shaped maangtikka.

Haldi:

The bride didn’t wear a saree for her Haldi but she did wear a pretty sharara suit in pink color. And of course, her love for benarasi reflected in this outfit as well as her dupatta was a benarasi silk one! We also absolutely adore her choice of fresh floral jewellery.

Wedding:

And then came her big day look, which left us stunned. For her wedding, Tanya wore a handwoven benarasi silk saree with a kadwa border. Her artisans created this saree over a period of two months. And boy, can we see that hard work in the magic that saree is!

The bride paired her yellow silk saree with gold jewelry. For makeup, she opted for rosy cheeks, glitter eyes and a royal bridal red lip!

Reception:

Going the usual way, Tanya opted for a red benarasi silk saree for her reception. She looked drop-dead gorgeous as a new wifey!
