The list of celebrities we saw at NMACC (Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Center) is nothing as we have seen ever! From Bollywood’s biggest names like Shahrukh Khan, Rekha, Madhuri Dixit, Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Ranveer Singh, etc. stepping out in their best style to Hollywood celebrities like Zendaya, Gigi Hadid, Tom Holland, and Penelope Cruz looking like a dream, the NMACC launch was a star-studded affair and captured everyone’s hearts in the country.
NMACC is located in Jio World Center and is a dedicated space to give a sensory experience and visual insights into India’s rich cultural history and arts. The project is envisioned by Nita Ambani and is forged to completion with her family’s support. It has to perform venues for Indian artists where you will see folk music shows and other areas for workshops and educational events. The space will open to the public on 3rd April and you can book your tickets on their official website nmacc.com or bookmyshow.com.
#1 Nita Ambani
Even before Nita Ambani launched NMACC, we knew she loved her Indian heritage with her sartorial choices often reflecting the age-old handcraft work of Benarasi, chikankari, patola, etc. done by dedicated artists. At the launch of NMACC India, she reflected her vision in six yards of grace and donned a gorgeous Benarasi saree in a royal blue color with golden zari work. She paired the saree with a kundan necklace and a sleek bun bedecked in gajra flowers. Dewy makeup and a red bindi completed her look. If elegance had a physical manifestation, it would definitely be her that night!
#2 Deepika Padukone
When Deepika Padukone is expected to wear an Indian look, we often picture her with a Sabyasachi saree and a sleek bun look (like what she wore at the Indian Sports Honors Awards 2023), but at the NMACC launch, she decided to ditch her usual traditional look and instead wore a heavily embroidered pantsuit with a cape that touched the ground. The dress was designed by Anamika Khanna, who the actress has collaborated with a few times in the past. On the red carpet walk, she was accompanied by her husband Ranveer Singh who wore an ivory sherwani and looked quite handsome himself.
#3 Radhika Merchant
The Ambani family’s choti bahu caught all eyes when she stepped out in a custom Shahab Durazi couture with a hand-embroidery work on the borders. She stepped out with her fiancee Anant Ambani and the couple coordinated in black dresses. Merchant styled her saree in a unique drape with the pallu going across her hand rather than over the blouse. It was draped by saree specialist Dolly Jain and her expertise just never fails to impress! Besides her saree, it was Radhika’s Hermes bag, priced at more than 2 crores, that caught the eyes of the Netizens. This rare Kellymorphone bag is available to purchase online here.
#4 Zendaya
When Zendaya and Tom Holland landed in Mumbai and created a buzz, it became clear after some brainstorming that they were here for the NMACC launch. For the launch, Zendaya wore a blue heavily-sequinned saree designed by Rahul Mishra with a bralette blouse. The paparazzi and the online viewers were instantly mesmerized by the look and loved how Zendaya carried this new cultural look with utmost confidence and also did a “namaste” as a nod to our culture. She also posed with the brains behind her dress, Rahul Mishra. For styling, she chose to trust Bulgari, of which she is also the brand’s ambassador, and wore a statement bracelet and earrings to complete the look.
#5 Gigi Hadid
Another Hollywood celebrity we had all eyes on was Gigi Hadid. The 27-year-old supermodel slayed on both days of the NMACC launch, with one day donned in a multi-colored pantsuit by Rahul Mishra and the other one dressed in custom gold and white saree by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla featuring the stylist’s signature chikankari work. She paired the saree with a chunky stack of golden bangles and complete her look with a sleek bun and light makeup. The insider videos showed her performing with Varun Dhawan and she showed her gratefulness to the Ambanis and the Bollywood stars for making her part of the events and making her feel welcome.
#6 Alia Bhatt
Next up on the list is Alia Bhatt who literally and figuratively shone on the red carpet in her glimmering dresses on both days. While it’s hard to pick our favorite, the silver saree on the first day definitely has a special place in our hearts. The handwoven metallic silk saree with a tube blouse by renowned designed Vaishali Shadangule is encrusted with Swarovski crystals and is weaved from the finest quality Maheshwari silk. The saree is available to purchase online for those who’re interested (link) and is priced at Rs.2,85,000/-. For any customizations, you can contact the store or just drop the team an email!
#7 Rekha
I don’t think I remember a day when Rekha stepped out and not slayed! The gorgeous actress always prepares to mesmerize us with her beauty, charm, and never-ending charisma. For the NMACC launch, the veteran actor wore a mint green Kanjeevaram silk saree and styled it with traditional jewelry pieces for a finished look. Beauty-wise, she trusted a rosy makeup look with red lips (her classic!) and slightly smokey eyes. She was seen posing with Neeta Ambani, Kajol, and Nysa Devgan on the red carpet!
#8 Kareena Kapoor
Kareena Kapoor was a vision in red as she stepped out for the NMACC launch with her husband, Saif Ali Khan, and sister, Karishma Kapoor. The actress chose an all-red lehenga for the event designed by Anjul Bhandari, a designer who is well-known for her efforts in keeping the traditional embroideries of chikankari, mukaish, and kaamdani, a passion that aligns with the whole ideas behind NMACC. Before stepping out, the actress posed with Saif in her abode to bless us with some amazing portraits of them after a long time! Though the exact product isn’t listed on the designer’s website, we can guess the price to be somewhere around 5 lakhs and you can contact their customer support team for further inquiries.
#9 Shraddha Kapoor
After returning to our big screen after
three years and giving us the fun-filled rom-com movie, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar, Kapoor made a silent yet statement entry at the NMACC launch on day one. She wore a cream-colored anarkali gown with no further accessories than a choker. Her anarkali had gorgeous motifs all over and net sleeves while her hair was tied in a sleek bun. You know how they say, “Minimalism is not about having less but making room for more of what matters.” Kapoor truly defined minimalistic fashion with her look!
#10 Kiara Advani
All eyes were on newlyweds Siddharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani as they made their way to the NMACC launch. It was only the couple’s second official appearance in their 2 months of being married. For the night, Kiara chose the designer who she also trusted for wedding outfits – Manish Malhotra. Draped in one of the stylish creations by the designer, Advani wore a lehenga set with an infinity blouse and a sheer dupatta that goes through her arms so she can move conveniently through the event. Coordinating with her in an ivory sherwani was Siddharth Malhotra, who looked quite impressive in his dress and the love birds were surely too cute to handle!
#11 Shloka Mehta
The expecting mother and Ambani’s badi bahu made a striking and stylish appearance at the NMACC launch wearing a handloom saree in golden work with a saree pallu on the side. Draped to perfection and comfort, the gorgeous mom-to-be stole hearts with her simple look and innocent smile. Arriving hand-in-hand with her husband Akash Ambani, Mehta was glowing in her dress and completed her look with dewy makeup, deeply kohled eyes, nude lipstick, and a sleek bun done by Mumbai-based Ritika Kadam. While she masked her baby bump in the saree, she chose to go the other way around with her dress choices on the next day and the after-party.
#12 Sonam Kapoor
When it comes to acing fashion, we can always trust Sonam Kapoor to serve us with some head-turning looks. The mother of one arrived in style for the grand launch and wore a custom JJ Valaya saree for the opening night. She was styled by her sister Rhea Kapoor, who also styled Alia Bhatt for the opening night by the way and she did an amazing job because both her looks were among the best and most reported ones of the night. Completing her look, Sonam wore a colored necklace set and went for smokey-brown eyes with maroon lips for her beauty choices.
#13 Isha Ambani
While Isha Ambani wore a modest pink suit on the opening night, her Day 2 red ensemble was a 180-degree turnaround. Her stunning ensemble in red comprised a red flowy gown topped with an embroidered cape. It was the chunky diamond necklace with big solitaires though that caught the attention and perfectly completed her look. Inside the NMACC, you will also find the one and only lehenga designed by Maison Valentino (they don’t plan on designing another one anytime soon!), Isha Ambani Piramal’s wedding lehenga. It’s displayed at the center and an image was posted by an attendee on Instagram.
#14 Penelope Cruz
Among the list of Hollywood celebrities, another popular name was Penelope Cruz who attended day 2 of the launch NMACC event. For the night, she wore a pink gown with a thigh-high slit wrapped with a cape bedecked with fur on the edges. The actress let her bangs in the hairstyle do the talking and kept her makeup simple for the night. Her dress was designed by Tamara Ralph, the former creative director of Ralph & Russo who handcrafts each and every one of her looks so each of her celebrity clients has something special and unique to wear.
#15 Madhuri Dixit
The Dhak-Dhak girl of Bollywood, Madhuri Dixit, also made a stylish entry with her husband Shriram Madhav Nene at the launch of NMACC. Her outfit blended the traditional and modernistic approach of Indian wear and featured pants, a gilet with sleeves, and matching wide-legged pants. The whole outfit is encrusted with aari, zardozi, gota patti, and Swarovski crystals. The actress paired the outfit with multiple layers of kundan jewelry, a sleek yet fluffy ponytail, and a dewy makeup look. We absolutely loved her modern approach to traditional Indian designs which includes years-old artwork but combines it with the need for comfort and rewearability at the same time.
