Sabyasachi is the best designer to wear on your big day. There, we said it! And we have got a very solid base behind this claim. He stepped up in the industry when Indian prints and designs were losing their touch in bridal wear. Like all things, the traditional bridal lehengas seemed less impressive amongst the plethora of western and contemporary designs. It was Sabyasachi who brought Indian-ness in the bridal lehengas back!
At the time when most brides turned away from the traditional red lehengas and authentic Indian prints (also because of the lack of availability and fine designs), he was the one who made sure our roots remain intact. Stepping up knowing you might fail - that takes courage and gumption. He has always stayed true to his value system and beliefs - and that’s why we have utter admiration for the designer!
And maybe his authenticity is the reason why his name is on every bride’s mind when they are lehenga shopping including our Bollywood divas. When Anushka, Deepika and Priyanka stepped out in their alluring Sabyasachi lehengas - all of us were left stunned. The demand for their replicas hit the wedding markets like crazy. And one thing that stuck for sure is Deepika’s ‘sada saubhagyavati bhavah’ overhead dupatta.
Many brides have since stepped out in the exact same Sabyasachi lehengas. And today, we will be looking at one more real bride who wore Deepika Padukone’s wedding lehenga!
Simrat looked her absolute best for her Anand Karaj ceremony. Donning a replica of Deepika’s wedding lehenga and carrying it in the same style, she sent us all in a frenzy!
Her sensational jewellery was another part of her bridal look that caught our attention. She teamed her lehenga with a kundan choker and layered it up with a striking satlada haar. On top of this, she wore chandbali earrings and maang tikka to give us some major bridal jewellery inspiration. Simrat also stacked her wrists with a big kundan kada and traditional Punjabi chura and kaleerein. As for her makeup, popular makeup artist Natasha Moor gave the bride a natural look with slight shimmery eyes and a nude lip. A red bindi on top gave this pocket full of gorgeousness a stunning traditional look!
We are absolutely in love, what do you guys think?
